Defoliation or defoliation: definition and meaning
DEFOLIATION or DEFOLIATIONDefoliation (or defoliation) is the fall of leaves in a plant.
It can be a natural phenomenon as in broad-leaved trees where during the cold season the plant sheds while in evergreen plants the fall is progressive over time. It can be pathological that is caused by disease or by physiological imbalances, or by bad environmental conditions or artificially with defoliating products.
It is synonymous with phylloptosis.
